Electioneering

If there's one thing Twilight fans know how to do, it is VOTER TURNOUT. Make no mistake: Harry Potter didn't get shut out at the MTV Movie Awards because it has fewer fans--they just didn't have the ground game. Twilight fan sites implored their fans to vote early and vote often. They hit the streets of Facebook and Twitter in full force. They linked to the polls every day while Harry Potter fans invented new Snape memes and played with their wands. Twilight fans get out the damn vote. Twilight fans are the fucking Daley machine. Twilight fans dragged Edgar Allan Poe from poll to poll until he died from exhaustion. And they're poised to do it all over again. Now, I didn't vote for the MTV Movie Awards out of journalistic integrity. Were it that I could say the same for the upcoming Teen Choice Awards, but instead I won't be voting because you have to register on their site and I am 24 years old and are you kidding me? But if you are so inclined, 24/7Greene has the details. Really, some of you should at least go vote for Ashley Greene as best scene stealer, because if she loses to the monkey from the Hangover II it'll really just cap the year she's had so far too well. But also vote for Harry Potter for something because I'm feeling love from both camps lately.

In other important election news, Celebuzz is currently polling the world on who is the "hottest Ashley." Now, ALL Ashleys are kinda hot, but the answer to this one is obvious. And yet, right now A. Greene is losing to A. Tisdale! I wasn't totally sure who that was, so I had to look her up. She appears to be a professional bikini-wearer? This will not stand. Get out of the gutter Mr. Poe, you have another vote to cast! Seriously, you can vote for that one as many times as you like so go crazy.

Finally, Ashley Greene is in yet another important poll: Hello Magazine's "Most Attractive Woman" of the month. She's winning that one, neck-and-neck with Cheryl Cole but far and away ahead of Jennifer Connelly and Sam Faiers (this is a fairly arbitrary cross-section of white women, go figure). And even though you COULD ensure a stable margin of victory by voting multiple times, I wouldn't if I were you. The site warns that "votes are checked for inconsistencies before publication of results." Hahaha, sure. Glad you guys are doing your due diligence over there at Hello Magazine.
